Export models

You can export a model as an image. This can be useful if you want to share a model with someone who does not have NVivo or want to include a model in a report.

What do you want to do?

What file types can I export to?

Models can be exported to the following file formats:

NOTE SVG images can be viewed in web browsers including Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer (requires the Adobe SVG Viewer plug-in). SVG images can also be opened by some vector image editors including Microsoft Visio.

The Save As dialog box opens.

  1. The exported file is saved to your default location for exported files, you can choose a different location if necessary.

  2. In the File name box, review the name that NVivo proposes for the exported file, and change it if necessary.

  3. In the Save as type box, choose the file format for the exported file.

  4. Click Save.

NOTE When you export a model containing NVivo icons to SVG, the icons are exported separately from the model image; an SVG file is created and an associated folder of icons. If you want to copy the exported SVG image, you must copy both the SVG file and the associated folder.
